FAQ for Labor of Love - Make Your Own Wedding Ring Workshops
How far in advance do we need to book our Workshop?
A minimum of 2 weeks in order to have the right metals on hand.
Can we melt down old jewelry to use in the process?
If you’d like to use old jewelry in the process for sentimental reasons, we can accommodate your metal, but be advised that any metal that you use will need to have more metal added to it in order to provide enough for your Workshop. If you would like to turn on old jewelry for scrap credit to get a discount on your Workshop, I am happy to provide scrap credit for any gold 10K and up or platinum.
Do I need previous jewelry experience for the Wedding Ring Workshop?
Not at all! Sharon Z is a metalsmith with more than 15 years of experience. She has trained all kinds of people at all levels of experience with jewelry making. You are in good hands and she will walk you through each step.
Can just one of us make a ring?
Yes! The price for the day is the same - $1500, but you’ll only pay for the metal for one ring
How do I know what width to choose?
This is a personal choice. If you aren’t sure, set up a time to come by our studio to look at your options.
How do find out my ring size?
Make a quickie appointment with Sharon to have your fingers sized.
What should i do to prepare for the day?
Wear closed-toe shoes, clothes you don’t mind getting dirty, and have your hair tied back. Lunch will be provided, as will a champagne toast at the end (or beverage of your choice). Let us know in advance if you have any dietary restrictions.
